This Week: Make Space for What Matters

This week is about noticing what you truly value — and creating a little more room for it in everyday life.

Existential Crisis

1. Choose what matters most

Take a few quiet minutes and ask yourself:
What feels genuinely important to me at this point in my life?
Write down 5 values that come to mind. These might be things like connection, family, creativity, health, learning, freedom, kindness, adventure, contribution, or peace.
Then narrow your list down to 3 values that feel especially important right now.

2. Look at how you're actually spending your time

For each of your three values, ask:
How much space does this currently have in my life? When did I last spend meaningful time on it?What tends to get in the way?Is there anything taking up a lot of my time that matters less to me?
There is no need to judge your answers. Simply notice the distance, if any, between what matters to you and how you're living.

3. Turn each value into one small action

Choose one realistic action for each value that you could repeat.

For example:

Connection → Put my phone away and have dinner with someone I care about twice a week.
Creativity → Spend 20 minutes drawing on Sunday mornings.
Health → Take a short walk after work three days this week.

Keep the actions small enough that they can become part of ordinary life rather than another goal you have to achieve.

At the end of the week, reflect:
When I made more space for what mattered to me, did anything feel different?
You don't necessarily need to reorganise your whole life around your values. Sometimes a meaningful change begins simply by giving what matters a little more of your time.

You made it to the end.
