Productivity Toolkit for Procrastination

This little productivity toolkit (or, as I sometimes call it, a ‘menu’) was put together for my clients who know what they need to do, but somehow can’t quite get themselves to do it.

I didn't want it to be a typical productivity toolkit. In clinical work, I’ve found that procrastination is often tangled up with self-criticism, perfectionism and high standards, so these strategies draw on CBT, CFT and ACT to look not just at getting things done, but at the patterns that make getting started difficult.

Inside the 4-page toolkit: • Illustrated strategies for procrastination, task initiation and deep work, • Practical ideas, key principles and a memorable ‘slogan’ for each strategy, • Textured and print-friendly versions included (8 pages total).

Most useful for: • Teenagers (13+), university students and adults struggling with procrastination, getting started or sustaining attention, • Those caught in perfectionism, self-criticism, avoidance or boom-and-bust work cycles, • Personal reflection and experimentation, or • Clinicians looking for a menu of options to explore collaboratively with clients.

These are ideas I use regularly in my own clinical work, so this is very much a resource I’ve made because I’ve found the approaches useful in practice.

Hope it helps, Aika (@theoxfordpsych)
